Foodie Q&A: Mikey Reisenberg of Mashita
This month, Gorman sat down with Mikey Reisenberg of Mashita to chat about his training in Italian cuisine, his beginnings as a food truck and so much more.
I used to visit Mikey’s Mashita food truck back in college, falling in love with his steam buns immediately. When I was a middle school teacher, I took a Korean food-loving student there to celebrate her win in a WMRA podcast contest. When Mikey opened up his brick and mortar location downtown, I found myself craving evenings on the back patio, enjoying a drunk carrot or japchae with pork belly. I’ve danced at dj nights and cheered at drag shows. I love Mashita. I love the food Mikey makes and the atmosphere he creates. In this conversation, I learned new things about him and I hope you do too. Read the story here.
